What is our pressing Process
Stampers are mounted on moulds in the presses and with the use of steam, chilled water, compressed air, electricity, and hydraulic pressure, the stampers press the records. Canadian Vinyl Records uses new presses that feature the latest technology to produce the highest quality records possible.
Twelve inch records can be pressed at two quality grades: 140 gram or 180 gram audiophile
Coloured vinyl is available (although the sound quality is often reduced when using any colour other than black). And… strangely enough… the lower quality sounding coloured record will cost a little more than the same one in black vinyl… go figure! That said, the colours do look cool and may help to sell more records. The artist must decide!
